Three blocks. That is the entire commercial spine of Old Town, from the pier to Pacific Coast Highway, and it is where most of what matters between Labor Day and the Lions parade will happen. If you live here, you already know the rhythm. What is worth knowing is how the rhythm shifted this summer.
The short version: the daytime calendar still belongs to the Lions Club and the volunteer groups who have been running it for decades. The evening calendar has a new anchor that did not exist last fall.
The Main Street arrival most residents are still finding
The 200 block picked up a wine bar in June. Solera Kitchen + Wine Bar marked its grand opening on June 29, 2026 with a ribbon-cutting alongside the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce at 210 Main Street, following a soft opening two weeks earlier. The traffic has been steady since. Solera welcomed more than 1,200 guests in its first 15 days.
The pedigree is worth pausing on. Solera is co-founded by certified sommelier Brandon Martini and entrepreneur Todd Wohrman, with a kitchen led by Executive Chef Michael Droma, whose background includes The Bazaar by José Andrés, Sotto, Cantinetta Luca, and Sugo Social. That is a chef résumé Main Street has not seen at this scale before. The room reads like a neighborhood spot, not a destination restaurant, which is the point. Hours run 11am–10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11am–11pm Friday and Saturday.
The kitchen leans Mediterranean and coastal California. Handbuilt charcuterie boards run three cured meats with three artisan cheeses, and the current menu includes a burrata plate with heirloom tomatoes, basil pesto, sliced speck, and toasted bread. Charcuterie is also the takeaway play. Boards travel well for a Duffy boat cruise, a beach picnic, or a night in.
The reason to note Solera in a piece about fall is not the food. It is what it does to the evening geometry of Main Street. For years, if you wanted a wine bar with a real list, you drove to Second Street in Belmont Shore or you drove to PCH in Huntington. That drive is now optional. Walt's Wharf still owns the seafood conversation from its 1913 building. Hennessey's at 143 Main and O'Malley's still own the pub side. The Abbey at 306 Main still has the sixteen taps. Solera fills a gap that had been quietly widening.
The Lions calendar, which has not moved
The volunteer infrastructure that runs the fall in this town sits with the Seal Beach Lions Club. Two dates matter.
Arts & Crafts Faire, September 12 and 13. The 48th Annual Seal Beach Lions Arts & Crafts Faire runs Saturday and Sunday, September 12th and 13th, 2026 at Eisenhower Park at the foot of the pier, with show hours Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday 9 to 4. Over a hundred juried artisans, live youth performances on Center Stage, and a Kids Craft Zone. The Leo Clubs handle lunch. It is the first weekend after Labor Day every year, which is how you can plan around it without checking.
Christmas Parade, first Friday in December. The route is fixed. Three blocks of Main Street from the Seal Beach Pier to Pacific Coast Highway, with final entries starting by 8:10 p.m. and the parade ending at 8:30 p.m. with Santa waving to the crowds. Last year the theme was Christmas in Toyland. The 2025 edition featured more than 90 entries and nearly 3,000 participants filling the street with marching groups, community performers, and festive displays.
If you have never watched the parade from a Main Street restaurant window, that is the local move. Reserve the table in October. Every year the same tables go to the same families, and the ones that open up go fast.
The closures matter if you are driving. Last December's pattern was typical: Main Street closed to vehicular traffic starting at 4 p.m. and reopening around 10 p.m., Ocean Avenue closed between Seventh and 12th, both Electric and Central closed between Eighth and 10th, and PCH eastbound diverted to northbound Bolsa Avenue. Assume something similar this year and plan your errands earlier in the day.
The Saturdays most residents forget to put on the calendar
Between the Faire and the parade, there are three cleanup mornings that quietly do more for the beach itself than any of the big events. Save Our Beach runs them out of the 1st Street parking lot. The remaining 2026 dates are Saturday September 19, Saturday October 17, and Saturday November 14, all meeting at 15 First Street.
If you have kids old enough to hold a bucket, this is the fall community service that is closer than any of the school-organized options. If you do not have kids, it is a two-hour version of the walk you were probably going to take anyway.
The unofficial season closer
The Saturday before Thanksgiving is the Turkey Trot, and this is the one that has grown past what the town easily absorbs. The 2026 Seal Beach Turkey Trot is on Saturday, November 21, located on Main Street, with a 5k, 10k, Gym Challenge, and Kids Run, and is expected to draw over 2,300 participants.
A few things to know if you live along the route.
- Register early if you want the shirt size you actually wear
- Do not plan a 9 a.m. coffee run on foot from anywhere east of 10th
- If you are hosting family in town for Thanksgiving, this is the morning that sells the town better than any tour
Main Street on trot morning is the closest thing to the parade experience in daylight. Same closures, different energy.
The weekly rhythm that anchors all of it
The Tuesday farmers market at the Plaza at Ocean Avenue does not need a headline. It runs year round. What changes in fall is the produce and the light. Citrus starts overlapping with the last stone fruit in September. By mid-November the flower vendors turn over to eucalyptus and dried arrangements for Thanksgiving tables.
The reason to mention the market in a fall piece is that it is the connective tissue between everything else. You buy Duffy-boat charcuterie ingredients at Solera on a Tuesday afternoon, walk to the market, walk home. That loop is available in exactly one three-block stretch in coastal Orange County.

Seal Beach did not become a different town this summer. What changed is that the evening half of Main Street finally caught up to the daytime half. The Lions still own the calendar.
